About the Hotline

The National Domestic Violence Hotline offers confidential support to anyone experiencing abuse in a relationship, and to friends and family who are worried about someone. Abuse doesn’t have to be physical. Controlling behavior, threats, isolation, and emotional or financial abuse are all reasons to reach out.

Advocates can listen, help you think through your options, help you make a safety plan, and connect you with local shelters and services.

A note on safety

If you are worried that someone may check your phone or computer, call from a phone they can’t see, and clear your browser history after visiting websites about abuse.
